We can supply all the leading brands of lenses from standard single vision lenses up to high index varifocals.

At Eyewear Direct we believe it is very important to have regular professional eye tests to make sure your eyes are healthy and your prescription is up to date. Once you have had your eye test it is your right to choose where you buy your glasses from. You can take your prescription away with you and buy your glasses from another optician or on the internet. Although the internet may be the cheapest way to buy glasses there is always the disadvantage that you cannot see what you are buying and more importantly when you have your eyes tested you need to have your PD (pupil distance) measured. This is the distance between your eyes. You need this measurement so that when your new glasses are made you look through the correct part of the lens.

If you buy on the internet you will have to take this PD measurement yourself as it will not be on your sight test. This measurement must be accurate especially if your prescription is high or you need varifocal or bi-focal lenses. With Eyewear Direct our technicians will take your PD measurement after you have chosen your frames. This will give you the peace of mind that your glasses from Eyewear Direct will be made to the correct measurements and conform to British Standards.
